Abstract

In Ayurveda, Hepatitis B is correlated with the Ubhayapatha Ashrita Swatantra kamla which is a part of Kamala. It is not a complication of Pandu roga (anaemia). It is kosha and Sakha Ashrit and dominates the pitta dosha. When the pitta dosha is increased in the amount it affects the rakta dosha with ashraya ashrayi bhava and leads to kamla and affects the Raktavaha srotas of the body. Kamla is a rakta Pradoshaja and Pittaja Nanatmaja vyadhi which affects the pitta and rakta dosha of the body. The liver is correlated with the yakrit (Liver) which is responsible for bile production when yakrit is affected it affects the bilirubin production which affects the digestive fire as digestive fire is responsible for digestion, absorption, and metabolism of the body. What is Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)?
