As per Ayurveda, edema is Shvathuor Shotha roga. The cause of edema as per Ayurveda is vitiation of all three doshas – vata, pitta and kapha. Accumulation of ama is also responsible for shotha which is caused due to obstruction of channels. These are categorized into different categories according to doshas involved- vataj edema, pittaj edema and kaphaj edema.

When causative factor attacks the body then vata, pitta, kapha and rakta (blood) are vitiated and then eneters into blood and enters the circulation. Due to defect in circulation it put negative effect on muscles (mamsa) and skin (twak) and which results in edema.

In endometriosis, such tissue is found on the exterior of the uterus and the endometrial tissue develops into abnormal growths, tumors or lesions.

AYURVEDA

Ayurveda is the ancient system of natural and holistic medicine and healing. Ayurveda is derived from two words Ayur (longevity) and Veda (science). Ayurveda finds the root cause of the disease and kills it.

Ayurveda Is Based On Three Doshas – Vata, Pitta, Kapha. Panch Mahabhutas – Akash, Vayu, Agni, Jal, Prithvi, Saptadhatus – Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi , Majja, Shukra.

According to Ayurveda, each person will be influenced by certain elements more than others. This is because of their prakriti, or natural constitution.

Vata dosha, in which the dominating elements are air and space.

Pitta dosha, in which the dominating elements fire.

Kapha dosha, in which the dominating elements are earth and water.

Ayurvedic Lifestyle

Ayurveda gives huge importance to pathya, or lifestyle. Ayurveda also provides guidance on how to manage our lifestyle on the basis of different seasons.

ENDOMETRIOSIS THROUGH AYURVEDA’S EYES

Endometriosis is a malfunction that harms Kapha Prakriti women more than anyone else. Though it’s also very common in Kapha / Pitta or Kapha / Vata women.

It can be classified as Kapha vikar by function and Pitta vikar by location. This is because of the fact that Kapha dosha controls the function of the endometrial tissue growth in the uterus. This disease has its root in pitta (uterus) that disrupts the function (kapha). Kapha provides lubrication and tissue renewal in the uterus.

In this pathology kapha produces excessive endometrial cells and allows them outside the uterus. This causes problems in both uterus and the vagina. Other areas of the pelvis can be affected as well. The growth of endometrial cells depends on hormone cycles that are controlled by vata and secondly kapha as a Pitta disorder.

At times this disorder is classified as an autoimmune disorder. According to Ayurveda the doshas lose their capacity to function normally. This abnormal function indicates a failure of Vata dosha to coordinate the other two doshas, in other words Vata dosha can be the causative factor in this issue. Another possible causative factor can be a fundamental problem with Ojas, commonly low Ojas. Ayurveda refers to a few herbal remedies for endometriosis.
